Syzygy Park

Syzygy Park is a tidal wetland park inspired by and designed to support the cleanup of the Lower Duwamish Waterway, which was designated EPA Superfund status due to 100+ years of heavy industrial use and polluted urban runoff. The park’s main features include an organically-shaped network of winding boardwalks and the addition of several small, floating islands which work to detoxify the water as they grow. The term “syzygy” is a reference to the tide, which causes unique moments of interaction between visitors and the park.
