After working in a toy store for about 2 years, I had plenty of experience choosing gifts for children of all ages. I saw most customers struggle with shopping for children younger than kindergarten age, before settling on toys they will quickly grow out of. I would often recommend books instead, which last much longer and can be passed from child to child and from family to family. Knowing that I wanted to pursue an interest in illustration, I decided that writing my own children's book would be the perfect way to end my time at UW. A to Zoo is the result of this. Written, illustrated, and designed by me, this book was an exploration of three of my passions: reading, working with children, and incorporating art into my design.
